Frequently Asked Questions

Website information for parents

The centre is open between 7.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. There are two sessions per day, school hour day 8.30-3pm or full-day sessions.

We have an open door policy at the centre where parents are welcome at anytime throughout the day and we also encourage parents to phone if they have any concerns regarding their child settling into the centre.

We require parents to fill out a questionnaire telling us about their child and their routines to help with the settling in process.

We have activities planned throughout the day to cater for individual needs of children but we remain flexible, allowing for children’s choice. We have short group sharing times where we encourage children to be in a larger group for stories, music, games etc.

We encourage children to share their individual interests which strengthen the link between home and the Centre.

The Centre provides morning and afternoon tea. This includes healthy snacks and water to drink. If your child is at the Centre over lunchtimes between 12.00 and 12.30 parents are responsible for providing a lunch. The Centre has a healthy eating policy and request that no sweets, chocolate, twisties etc be included in lunch boxes.

Please dress your child for play! We will have a lot of messy activities and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to send your child home as clean as when they arrived. Always send at least 2 changes of clothes with your child. Please make sure all clothing and shoes are named.

We have set routine times for children learning to use the toilet. Please provide plenty of disposable nappies if your child is not yet toilet trained.

If your child is at the centre all day there is a quiet area provided if they need a sleep or rest. We provide them with a mattress and bedding.

For safety reasons you are required to sign your child in and out of the Centre. Please make sure you have personally handed your child to a staff member before leaving.

Fees are to be paid weekly either by cash, cheque or automatic payment. Please enquire at the office for bank details.
