Hi my name is Heather Thacker.  I am a qualified primary teacher having been involved in teaching in the Franklin area for a very long time!  Feeling the need for a change, I opened Prickly Hedgehog Pre-School in 2001 and have since thoroughly enjoyed my journey in early childhood education.

I have 2 children and 5 grandchildren who are a big part of my life.  I also enjoy holidaying, keeping fit and active, and relaxing at the beach.

Hi my name is Manisha Hari. I have been working in the early childhood sector for over 17 years and been with Pukekohe Preschools since then!  I love working in this environment and working alongside such a fantastic team.  What I love about this career is that not a day goes by where you don't laugh and or have fun, it's such a rewarding job.

I am married and have three children who I enjoy spending my weekends with.  I love going out for dinners and love food.  My favourite is Yum Char.  I also enjoy watching my husband play hockey and supporting the Warriors!

Hi my name is Amy and I am the Supervisor at Little Pukeko's Pre-School.  I have worked at Little Pukeko's since I was 17 years old, with a two year gap from 2015 to 2017 to travel and work in England.  I come from a big family who I love spending time with!  I enjoy keeping healthy and active, socialising with friends and traveling.
Reasons why I love working with children; I really enjoy helping them to become competent, confident and happy learners.  No two days at pre-school are ever the same and most importantly you are always guaranteed a fun time!

Hi, my name is Monique and I have been working for Heather now for 2 years.  Before I started working here I was a nanny for 3 years working through Porse.  I am currently working towards gaining my Bachelor of Early Childhood.  I love that I get to be a part of the children's growth and watch them accomplish new challenges.

Hi, my name is Megan Markham, I live on a farm in Pukekawa with my husband and my son Grayson and daughter Annabelle.  I've been working in early childhood for 11 years and hold a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education.  I love working with children as it brings me great joy in believing that i am encouraging them to develop into competent, confident and capable children.  I work two days a week at Little Pukeko's Pre-School as now I have my own children to spend time with and watch grow.

I have been teaching for over 30 years in a variety of roles.  Primary trained, I have taught many age groups from New Entrant through to High School in several Franklin Schools, spending 13 years teaching at Pukekawa Primary School before starting at Little Pukeko's Pre-School.

My husband and I lived and farmed a large sheep and beef property at Wairamarama (Onewhero) for 40 years.  We sold the farm last year and are now living on a small lifestyle block at Pukekawa, enjoying developing the property and spending time with our family (often at Whangamata Beach).

We have three children and in-laws, seven grandchildren aged between 13 years-1 years old (3 of them of preschool age).

As we didn't travel when we were younger, over the past few years we have enjoyed travelling to amazing overseas destinations.  Hopefully we have many more to explore!
