Philosophy - Little Pukeko's
Little Pukeko's Pre-School aims to provide a safe, secure, and caring environment where children are respected and supported.
We endeavour to empower children to become confident, competent learners and to support them in learning experiences through challenging, stimulating and meaningful play.
We believe that parents are the first educators, therefore establishing and maintaining positive relationships is a vital link between home and the centre.
The New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, (Te Wháriki), provides us with the basis for our planning. Planning around children's dynamic strengths and interests in a fun way will encourage and stimulate them holistically. This will be achieved by providing real-life experiences, and problem-solving opportunities.
We believe in a bi-cultural and multi-cultural approach. We will respect all languages and cultures by providing experiences that support individual differences. We promote peaceful interactions between all individuals, role modeling responsive techniques and negotiating skills as a basis for the development of genuine relationships.
In partnership with family/whanau we strive to provide the highest quality care for your child in an atmosphere where children can grow and learn at their own pace.
